WSWC's Supports Wakeboarding at Unprecedented Level

CANADIAN INVITED TO HELP DEVELOPING WAKEBOARDING NATION

Canadian Jeremy Matthews of Calgary has been invited to spend a week in Ecuador to
help further develop wakeboarding in that nation. The Pan Am Region of the International
Water Ski Federation and the Ecuadorian Water Ski Federation have teamed up to parachute
Matthews in, from January 23 to 31st, to organize exhibitions, clinics and then help
run a tournament to be included in the Ecuadorian Olympic Festival.
Matthews is infinitely qualified to aid Ecuadorian riders and organizers. He is the
WSC Wakeboard National Team Coach, is a member of the national wakeboard committee,
was chief of competition at last year's Canadian championship, was chair of the very
successful 2001 national championship, and is not a bad rider himself. Spreading

WAKEBOARD COMMITTEE BOLSTERED

WSC is please to announce some recent additions to the National Wakeboard Committee.
Robert Price (AB) has been named as chair, and Dominic Lizotte (QC) has been added to
head the judging portfolio. They team up with existing committee members, Frank Good,
Guillaume Pare, Sean Fleming and Jeremy Matthews. The committee is working on a
two-year plan to further plan activities and programs that will see the continued
development of wakeboarding.
2004 THROWDOWN EVENT

The wakeboarding folks in Manitoba recently announced details for the 2004 edition
of Throwdown. The 2004 Coors Light Silver Summer Throwdown will be held in Portage la
Prairie, Manitoba from August 20-22. Check out their web page for further information
