The 2012 Cam Am Challenge will once again be hosted at the Lake of Dreams in St. Louis, Missouri on September 1st and 2nd. Canada will be sending a twelve member team – 6 athletes each for the U13 and U17 divisions.

Long-Term Athlete Development for Parents

Many parents are looking for answers to explain what is right for their child when it comes to athletic development. As a coach, you need something that will help explain the facts in an easy, accurate, and user-friendly manner. The CAC, in coordination with Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L), created the document: "Long-Term Athlete Development Information for Parents" to help coaches educate the parents of the children in their programs. Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada and the SkiAbility Ottawa club will be hosting combined SkiAbility courses for certification as:
Assistant Instructor and/or Program Coordinators
The goal is to provide water ski and wakeboard schools/clubs with additional training to work with person's with a disability. These courses are funded by Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) and are open to all members who are in good standing with their provincial association. These courses are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and funding is available for those who register before March 19th, 2012. Complete details can be found HERE.

Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada is excited to announce a long awaited 2012 Towed Water Sports Benefit Cruise. This is a follow-up to the very successful 2008 Cruise which saw 155 people from the towed water sports community enjoy a terrific vacation and fantastic camaraderie, participate in the annual meeting, and which generated $24,000 in fundraising proceeds. This year Waterski Magazine chose Canadian water skier Whitney McClintock (ON) as Female Slalom Skier of the Year! Whitney has had an amazing year topped off with winning all but one pro slalom event she entered this season with four wins and counting and defending her world slalom title in Dubna, Russia. 2012 FISU University Water Ski Championships Information

The 2012 Championships are schedule for Santiago, Chile from January 10th to 15th, 2012. Water skiers who are currently registered for and pursuing a full program of study leading towards a degree or diploma at a post-secondary institution (community college, professional schools, technical schools, CEGEP, or university) or who have graduated from a post-secondary institute in the year preceding the event are eligible to enter. This event is self-funded (estimated at $2500) and anyone interested in attending should contact Ryan Bush at balabushy@hotmail.com before October 21, 2011.
