PROGRAM POLICY

Celebrating success is a hallmark of a successful organization. A Hall of Fame not only celebrates success, but also acts as a living history, so as people change within the organization, its successes are not lost. A Hall of Fame is a legacy for future generations of water skiers to learn from the past in shaping the sport of tomorrow.

CATEGORIES
1. Athlete: Includes all WSWC recognized competitive disciplines.
2. Builder: Includes Coach, Trainer, Media (journalist/broadcaster), Administrator, Manager, Official, etc.
3. Pioneer: This is not definable but is meant to catch contributions to the sport which don't fit under the definition of Athlete or Builder.

SELECTION COMMITTEE
1. The WSWC President appoints a Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chairperson.
2. The Chairperson appoints 4 additional committee members, through an "open call" process. A selection committee member cannot be a Hall of Fame nominee during his/her tenure on the committee.
3. In the first year, 2 members will sit for a 2 year term, the other 3 members will sit for a 3 year term. All future terms will be 2 years in length.
4. Committee members can sit on the committee for an indefinite number of terms.

NOMINATION PROCESS
1. There are no automatic inductions.
2. A nomination can be made by any individual or organization or by the committee.
3. Nominations must be received using the Official WSWC Hall of Fame Nomination form available on the Website or from the National Office.
4. Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee annually. The deadline for nominations will be September 1 for consideration for induction in the following year.
5. If a nomination is not successful, it will be automatically reconsidered by the Committee for the following two years. After this three-year process an unsuccessful nomination will have to be resubmitted.

INDUCTION CEREMONY
1. A maximum of 2 Athlete and 2 Builder inductions will occur in any given year. A Pioneer induction may or may not occur in any given year, and if so, shall be limited to one annual induction. Increase in these numbers may, from time to time, be considered by the Executive Board.
2. Inductions require a majority vote of the selection committee members.
3. Induction Ceremonies will take place at the Inductee's National Championships, the Water Ski & Wakeboard Canada Annual Congress or other suitable location as determined by the Committee.
4. Inductees will receive a framed Citation, a Lapel Pin and Hall of Fame Crest, or other suitable item of recognition as deemed appropriate by the Committee.
